Scratches and mini indentations can be repaired using a colored putty-like substance
made by the various manufacturers. If significant damage occurs,
you can simply replace the damaged plank or square.
You can replace the boards by cutting out the damaged piece
with a router and special blade/tip, and then re-inserting the damaged piece
with a replacement piece and gluing it in place.
Some manufacturers make a product that is installed by "snapping" the pieces together
using a metal clip system that requires no glue. Replacing these types of floors is much easier.
Just disassemble the affected area and re-install inserting a new piece of laminate flooring
to replace the damaged one.
Depending on where the damaged piece is you may have to disassemble much of the floor
to get to the damaged piece which could be time consuming.
Whichever installation system is used it is recommended that replacement of laminate flooring
be attempted only by a professional.
