What is the difference between Red Oak and White Oak?

The visual appearance:

  • The red oak shows pinkish look when finish is applied
  • Where as the white oak shows a yellowish honey tone.

The hardness:

  • The white oak is denser than the red oak, therefore, the White Oak is used in heavy traffic areas.

The price:

  • Even though the White Oak is denser and stronger, the price of the White Oak is cheaper than the Red Oak.
