FAQ   -   Hardwood   -   General

What causes the cupping of a floor?

The cupping is due to excess moisture which forms from a crawl space, a basement, and/or from a slab. In order to fix the problem of the cupping, first, you must identify where the excess moisture is coming from, and fix that. Second, after the hardwood floor is dried, fill in the cracks, and gaps with wood putty, and refinish the floor. The best time to do the refinish is Spring or the Fall season.
