FAQ   -   Carpet   -   Installation

I have installed my carpet and do not want a metal transition between the carpet and tile. I have heard that you can roll the carpet and just butt it up to the tile. I held some carpet next to the tile and it does look nice

Assuming your question is: What is the down side to installing the new carpet without the metal strip next to the tile? The answer would be:

The metal transition can help protect the tile edge which is more likely to break or crack due to it's exposure. However, many installers can "turn and tack" the carpet at that edge and make it look very nice.
